Do you ever ask yourself how you are feeling? Or….are you more concerned about how everyone around you is feeling? I spent most of life determining how I should feel based on what was going on around me and guess what? It was an exhausting way to live!!!!! Now I know the truth……how the people around me are feeling is most likely a reflection of how I am feeling. How I am feeling can actually change the way people around me are feeling. Good or bad…positive or negative. It is up to me. These days I check in with how I am feeling and I then make a choice to stay with it or change it. Simple yes….easy….not so much….at least not in the beginning of learning a new habit.
Where are you going?
This is perhaps the busiest season of the year. It is “The Holidays” There is so much to do and seemingly so little time to do it. We cram in all sorts of extra tasks from decorating and shopping to baking and hosting parties. There are pageants and plays to attend as well as office potlucks and endless other events. You name it ….there is an event for it. It is no wonder the season often passes in a blur and then it is “Happy New Year” and we don’t know what happened or how we got here. Taking time to be conscious and choosing how you are feeling and what you are doing and where you are going is empowering. Here is what I recommend…..
Stop….Breathe…..Check-in….Choose
I invite you to check in with yourself. Take a few minutes here and there throughout your day and ask yourself how you are feeling. You can even set a reminder on your phone to check-in. This is a powerful tool you can use to change the momentum if things aren’t going in the direction you would prefer. Stop. Breathe. Check-in. Choose. Repeat as needed.
Are you happy with the flow you are in?
If you are experiencing any type of angst or frustration…. I encourage you to take a few minutes to be present in the moment and look at what is going on around you and in you. If you aren’t experiencing joy in the flow you are in….ask yourself if there is a message that is trying to get to you. Perhaps there is something that can be eliminated or a change of perspective that would make your life flow in a more peaceful direction.
In the end….
Life is meant to be enjoyed. I have only recently learned this. Honestly……it is a new concept for me and sounds silly. I repeat …life is meant to be enjoyed. I am supposed to be enjoying my life and having fun! And of course….so are you! Wow! I am getting better at it but I still have moments and most likely will continue having moments where I forget that I am supposed to be having fun. When I forget….I am learning to do what I am encouraging you to do. Stop. Breathe. Check-in. Choose.
Enjoy the journey…
Remember to remember. Choose joy. Honor your sacred self. You deserve all of the love, joy and happiness you can possibly imagine.
I am grateful for you…
Thank you for the opportunity to share with you what I am learning on my journey through this life. As always…. my ongoing desire is that your life and your journey is blessed and full of great joy and happiness.
Hugs,
Suzi
